The deer meal was very, very tasty!
We had a 3 bed room there with shared toilet and shower. I was shocked how old and shabby the rooms looked. The campsite looked well-kept, as did the restaurant. But the rest of the inn, for God's sake! Nothing has been renovated there since 1970. That's how it smelled ... The only positive thing was the breakfast. For this I give 5 stars! Excellent in taste and lovingly put together. Thanks for that. Next time we come to camp, because the location is fantastic! ?
Cozy place to camp and eat well and cheaply. A bread delivery service is also offered. Nice operator of the inn. Bus connection right in front of the door, as well as cycling and hiking trails.
Service very nice, attentive and courteous! Unfortunately, only standard frozen food - potato rösti, schnitzel and apple strudel can and should be made yourself! Salad garnish arranged carelessly, tomatoes tasteless. Nice location on the Altmühl ?
Good food, something for everyone. Price, _ performance is also right! We would love to come back
Fantastic fresh food in a very rustic restaurant, nice to sit outside too. The roast venison was a poem, my daughter raves about it all the time. The hosts are very welcoming and the prices are great. The portions are way too big, I wonder if it can pay off. Overall a great evening with great beer, food and a lot of atmosphere. Thank you very much, even if this review was long overdue ?
As is so often the case with established, beautifully situated courses ... you don't need to! After we had called about 20 times during the week and had not been answered, then had written several emails on the way that were also not answered, we went straight there! When we arrived, we were told harshly by the operators that we never received any email. If we really wanted to, we could stand directly at the parking lot of the inn on the orchard meadow, under the fruit trees. A tiny parcel between trees with low-hanging branches, right next to a fireplace ... and that with an off-road vehicle and roof tent! The rest of the space was nailed full and what wasn't occupied was supposedly reserved! Goodbye forever!
Somewhat outdated space that you notice everywhere. The restaurant has a clear menu, but very nice location directly on the Altmühl and a very nice owner and extremely friendly staff in the restaurant. That's why 4 stars anyway, we'd love to come back ???????
After we discovered the Kastlhof last year, it was immediately clear to us where we wanted to go on our next vacation. The location is just wonderful. The accompanying beer garden and the inn also convinced us to be happy here. It was like that in the end. Super reasonable price for caravan dog and two adults. Would even call it very cheap. Of course we have also read the previous reviews here. I'll start. To the sanitary facilities. Of course they are old-fashioned. But they are clean and the showers are warm. And the scattered cobwebs on the ceiling ... well whine on a high level. We were very happy with the situation. And with the price-performance ratio there is absolutely nothing to complain about. To the beer garden and to eat. The snack on the first day was very, very tasty. The smoked ham from the butcher in the neighboring village was great? (all sources of supply for the food used, including canned goods, are listed in the menu. Everything regional and very good). Sure it's simple cuisine. But no less good. The lamb ham and crackling lard are incredibly tasty. So we were very satisfied with the food and were very pleasantly surprised. The portion size is quite powerful. So bring a big hunger. The breakfast looked very good and plentiful. But we always ate caravans. Bread service works great. Rolls are very tasty, only the pretzels are a disaster. And if I'm honest, that's the only thing I have to complain about all the time. Yes and unfortunately the weather, but nobody can do anything about it, and the rain also made for a very funny and beer-rich evening. The hosts are very nice and I was discussed by name after the first day. Is actually not important to me and I don't expect it. But find it remarkable with so many people. It is only 8 minutes to Kehlheim. Great restaurants and boat trips on the Danube and Altmühl. About 5 minutes to Riedenburg. About 2 minutes after Essing. (Brauereigasthof Schneider is highly recommended there) So we were and are very satisfied and happy with our decision to have spent our vacation there. Clearly not for spoiled 5 star luxury campers. But if you want to have some peace and quiet in nature, you also want to have a beer with others and good food is in good hands here. I really hope that we will soon find the time to spend a few nice days there.
A simple, but also very cheap campsite with clean, but no longer entirely contemporary sanitary buildings. In addition, an excellent rural inn that also offers a great breakfast for camping guests. The location is a stepped, with hedges shaded hillside property directly on the Altmühl cycle path. I was traveling with a bike / tent. It should be noted that the Corona rules are observed.
A different kind of campsite, simple ... and no Schiki miki. Here you can make a great alternative holiday that there is still something like that. The inn ? is inviting, plus a friendly staff, great ??
The location, right on the Altmühl, is very nice, but that's about it. The sanitary facilities are very old and were not very clean when we were there. From us this place is clearly NOT a recommendation.
Nice campground, not contaminated with camper. The food does not do justice to a country inn, therefore only 4 stars.
Very nice and in a great location. The breakfast is absolutely amazing. Nothing is missing and the entire staff was very friendly. The rooms are quite simple but clean and absolutely okay to stay overnight.
The location on the Altmühl is very nice, our parking space was large and cheap. Only the sanitary facilities lead to a star deduction. Good and cheap rural food. Overall recommendable.
It is a pension with favorable prices for family groups, in a natural and quiet environment close to many tourist sites in the region.
We were there with the camper. Nice operator, many parking spaces also directly on the Altmühl with a lot of space, we also found that good for camping, also inexpensive. Only the sanitary facilities were quite old and the food in the inn was not our taste, very simple cuisine.
Simple but nice campsite with clean sanitary facilities and an absolutely recommendable economy. We have been here several times and will definitely be back.
Long wait for food, although few guests. Expensive. Small salad on saucer 7.90 euros, dressing out of the bag. Perhaps attractive for campers, not for "walk-in customers".
A great place, very nice hosts. Difficult to understand when some people complain about the sanitary facilities - they were clean and in order. Camping, the new trend, but please only with 5 stars, and then complain / complain about the rising prices on the campsites. This place has kept its charm, hopefully it will stay that way. The food in the restaurant was also great - rustic and more than adequate. We will be back!
Simpel but lovely surroundings. Nice people.
Nice place to much mosquito
+ Volleyball Court - best camping location + breakfast bread - streat nearby
nice camp site in the middle of nowhere, with a restaurant, biergarten, boat ramp and direct access to the cycle path along the river. Toilets are basic but clean, you can order fresh buns for the other morning. Lots of sights and day trip destinations nearby. Avoid the spots on the top, the main road is very close and has traffic noise.
Super Location
